Our dining room

 Dining rooms are almost becoming a dinosaur.  Everyone is opting for open concept these days.  But for me, I love the feel of a separate space for having a good meal away from everything else with my husband.  It is one of my favorite rooms in our home. 

I made a barn quilt and the floating shelf that it sits on and kept decor to a minimum.  I also painted all the trim white and stained the coat closet door.

When a friend of mine passed away a few years ago her daughter gave me the china cabinet that holds my ironstone. 

I got this table from Birch Lane.  Its called Whitmore.  The quality is awesome.  It has a rustic look to it.

This is a rug I picked up from Overstock.  I got the last one in this color.  Its almost 8 feet around and was a steal at under $100!

The wall color is Silver Birch by Glidden, but I had it mixed in Valspar paint.

We kept it simple.  

It's a room we use all the time. 

 It makes me happy.
